• I offer individual evidence-based counselling for teens and adults, provided in person or virtually.

  • Yes, sessions are private. Exceptions include legal requirements (e.g., subpoena), risk of imminent harm to self/others, or suspicion of child/vulnerable adult abuse.

  • The first session is usually for information gathering, going over informed consent, and discussing the issues that brought you to counselling.

  • Counselling differs from talking with friends or family. Although loved ones care about you, therapy provides a neutral, supportive environment to explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and patterns that might be causing stress or pain. It can be especially beneficial during challenging times or crises.

    Counselling offers benefits but can also feel uncomfortable. Discussing personal experiences might evoke strong emotions or long-buried memories and may highlight challenging patterns or relationships. These reactions are normal, and we’ll progress at your comfortable pace.

  • It is important to find a good "fit" with your therapist. If this happens, you can discuss this with me or try a few sessions to determine the fit. Using a free consultation first can give us and idea if we could work together.

  • The number varies by individual; some feel relief after one session, but significant changes often require 8+ sessions.
